South Downs House – Host of the Revival Staycation Retreat
Hayley & Kelly’s Revival Retreat usually takes place in the Austrian mountains, but due to the pandemic, they were unable to go ahead with their original plans for their 2020 retreat. Knowing that the retreat needed to happen more so than ever before, they relocated their retreat to South Downs House. We are so pleased to say that it was such a raging success, that it is now a permanent fixture in their diary.
Facilitating a range of different workshops from breathwork, meditation, yoga, EFT and Physch-K, the retreat is an empowering weekend which concentrates on the removal of self-limiting beliefs, stress and anxiety. Creating space for a group of women to come together, connect back to their selves, each other and the beautiful nature, which surrounds South Downs House.
Not only does South Downs House have the capacity to accommodate a substantial amount of retreaters but the picturesque scenery and serenity of the location make it the perfect spot for some self-care. The remote positioning, offers guests the chance to disconnect from the rat-race and stresses of day-to-day life and really focus on themselves within the tranquillity of the South Downs.

The lawns hosted the sunrise yoga sessions, which was a gentle but invigorating hour spent nurturing both the body and mind with stretches and mindfulness. Being outdoors for these sessions really does elevate the experience, feeling the breeze on the skin, seeing the trees swaying, and hearing the birds chirping away. This connection to nature is such a grounding experience for so many and the perfect escapism for busy minds.
With generous grounds, this is just the start of workshops and activities hosted within the great outdoors found at South Downs House. Since the South Downs are on it’s doorstep, there are also numerous walking paths and bike tracks a stone’s throw away, suitable for a range of capabilities. Hayley and Kelly took full advantage of this, scheduling a hike to the top of the downs, to take in the views and further facilitate amazing shifts of realisation and enlightenment for their retreaters.
There are also spaces within the house which are practical and functional for a retreat but still uphold a calming and welcoming environment. With space for plenty of chairs and tables and a large TV, there is a room which is a great spot for presentations and workshops that require a screen, but also for elements of a retreat that encompass writing or written activities. There is another room which is great for more mat work. Here is where the Revival Retreat facilitated evening breathwork workshops and it was a soothing and cosy setting for some incredible, transformative results. There were also facilities which the retreaters made use of in their down time – some enjoyed a swim in the natural pool while others rested in the library.
It was an honour to be able to provide Hayley and Kelly with a surrounding that could compliment their schedule for the Revival Retreat and somewhere that positively impacted their retreaters. If you are looking for a picturesque and calming location to host a retreat, please do get in touch. We would love to be able to assist you.
